Our packages

Our equipment packages are designed to help you live an independent and longer life at home.

You do not need a home landline to become a Telecare Cardiff customer. When you apply, you can select which package is suitable to you and your needs and the level of service you require.

When you become a Telecare Cardiff customer we will refer you to Care and Repair for a key safe, free of charge. A key safe is a small secure box that is fitted on the outside of your home and stores up to three keys.

Our Mobile Responders will use a unique code to open the key safe and can then enter your home to provide you with assistance. This unique code will be stored securely at the monitoring centre.

Basic package

This package contains:

a digital unit which connects you to our alarm receiving centre, and

a pendant that will generate an alarm to the Alarm Receiving Centre when it is pressed.

Home safety package

This package contains:

a digital unit which connects you to our alarm receiving centre,

a pendant that will generate an alarm to the Alarm Receiving Centre when it is pressed.

a bogus caller button that lets you raise an alarm if you have an unexpected caller

Environmental home package

This package contains:

a digital unit which connects you to our alarm receiving centre,

a pendant that will generate an alarm to the Alarm Receiving Centre when it is pressed,

a heat alarm that raises an alert if the temperature in your home rises above 58 degrees Celsius,

Dementia package 1

This package contains:

a digital unit which connects you to our alarm receiving centre, and
a fall detector that raises an alarm if a fall is detected,
a smoke detector which raises an emergency alarm call if smoke is detected, and
a carbon monoxide detector which will raise an emergency alarm call if carbon monoxide is detected.

Dementia package 2

This package contains:

a digital unit that connects you to our alarm receiving centre.
a fall detector that raises an alarm if a fall is detected,
a smoke detector which raises an emergency alarm call if smoke is detected,
a carbon monoxide detector which will raise an emergency alarm call if carbon monoxide is detected,
a bed sensor that raises an alarm if you have not gotten in or out of bed within a pre-set time,
a heat alarm that raises an alert if the temperature in your home rises above 58 degrees Celsius, and
a Client Wandering door alarm that raises an alarm if you leave your room or home during a pre-set time.

Falls packages

We understand how important it is to stay independent in your own home. Our Technology Enabled Care (TEC) allows many older and vulnerable residents to keep on living safely at home, delaying the need to enter residential care, and improving quality of life.

If you are an older or vulnerable person that is at risk of falling, our Falls Packages can offer TEC options to suit your specific needs.

When you have chosen a suitable package, our officers will come to your property to install and connect your devices. They will:

discuss our service with you,

show you how the devices work, and

show you how to call for help.

Falls Package 1

Price of package:

£201

Falls Package 1 includes a Reach IP digital unit and a Dynamic Fall Detector. Both devices connect to our alarm receiving centre, where an emergency alarm will be raised if you fall.

Reach IP digital unit

If you find yourself in difficulty, you can press the red button on the digital unit to raise the alarm. This will quickly connect to our alarm receiving centre, where a member of the team can re-assure you until help arrives.

Dynamic Fall Detector

The Dynamic Fall Detector is worn on your wrist and is compatible with the Reach IP digital unit. It can detect any speed changes related to a fall, and also detects the impact that the fall has had.

When a fall is detected, an alarm will be sent to our receiving centre. The fall detector also has an alarm button that you can press to manually activate an emergency alarm.

Falls Package 2

Price of package:

Falls Package 2 includes a Reach IP digital unit, a Dynamic Fall Detector, and a bed sensor. Each of these devices are connected to our alarm receiving centre.

Reach IP digital unit

If you find yourself in difficulty, you can press the red button on the digital unit to raise the alarm. This will quickly connect you to our alarm receiving centre, where a member of the team can re-assure you until help arrives.

Dynamic Fall Detector

The Dynamic Fall Detector is worn on your wrist and is compatible with the Reach IP digital unit. It can detect any speed changes related to a fall, and also detects the impact that the fall has had. When a fall is detected, an alarm will be sent to our receiving centre. The fall detector also has an alarm button that you can press to manually activate an emergency alarm.

Bed sensor

The bed sensor will send out an alarm call if it has not detected any motion over a certain period of time. For example:

you have not gotten into bed,
you have not gotten out of bed, or
you have not returned to bed after getting up in the night.

The bed sensor can be placed underneath, or on top of your mattress. If your bed is large, you may need two sensors.
