Our Meals on Wheels service provides nutritious and balanced meals that have been prepared to national catering standards. We understand that everyone has preferences and offer a wide range of meal options to suit you.
On rare occasions we may need to substitute your preferred meal, but we will always make sure that it is suitable for you.
We cater to a range of preferences and needs, such as:
- allergies and intolerances,
- medical,
- cultural, and
- religious.
If you have certain allergies or intolerances, you can let us know when you apply. We will tell our kitchen staff who will make sure that all your meals are suitable.
If you are already a customer and have found out that you have an allergy or intolerance, please contact us so we can tell our kitchen staff.
Free-from meals
If you have multiple allergies or intolerances, we offer a range of free-from meals. Our supplier, apetito, takes great care to make sure that they do not contain any:
- onions
- garlic,
- milk,
- gluten,
- eggs,
- fish,
- tree nuts,
- peanuts,
- molluscs,
- crustacean,
- lupins,
- sulphites,
- soya,
- sesame,
- mustard, and
- celery.

We are careful to exclude these ingredients entirely. However, there may be times when very small traces are detected through scientific analysis.
Higher energy meals
If you have a smaller appetite or you have noticed you are losing weight without trying, we recommend higher energy meals. These meals can help to fight the effects of malnutrition as they are high in calories and protein content.
If you are worried about unexplained weight loss, please speak to your GP.
Texture modified meals
If you have swallowing difficulties, our modified range can help you enjoy mealtimes again. These meals provide the nutrients you need, with portion sizes and textures to suit your needs.

All meals are frozen to make sure they are fresh and are prepared for delivery at Fairwater Day Centre. We use hot boxes and heated bags when delivering to make sure they are ready for you to enjoy.
